Delhi government is going to launch free pilgrimage for the citizen of the Delhi state. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has made a free Pilgrimage Project 2017-18 for senior citizens of the state. Under the Free Tirtha Yatra Yojana, the senior citizens living in Delhi are preparing to take the pilgrimage to North India on government expenditure. Under the scheme, the pilgrimage will be provided free of cost by the government. The free pilgrimage will be provided free of cost to all the 70 assembly constituencies senior citizen of the Delhi.

Details of Free Tirtha Yatra Yojana

Under the Free Tirtha Yatra Yojana, 1000 senior citizen will be selected from every assembly and sent to different places of pilgrimage in North India. According to the information, the government has selected religious places like Haridwar, Rishikesh, Dwarka, Nageshwar, Jyotirlinga, Vrindavan, Mathura and Kedarnath-Badrinath for pilgrimage. According to the project, the Government will bear the full expenditure of traveling allowance, stay and food allowance of the tourists visiting the pilgrims.

When will be Started Free Tirtha Yatra Yojana

Delhi government can start this free journey only for the elderly after Makar Sankranti. The Rajasthan government also gave similar facilities to the elderly there. The government had given the facility of pilgrimage to the elderly with trains and airplanes. Pilgrimage has been started in many states of the country and benefits are also provided.

Under the scheme, people will be taken by bus and every trip will be of two to three days. The committee will soon formulate the plan outline and explain how to apply for a visit. Free pilgrimage is already started in many of the state Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh. Rajasthan government sends the senior citizen along with one assist for caring by airplane.  The state government of Delhi already made a Pilgrimage development committee to implement the scheme.
